Requirements:
- Licensing & Credentials: Valid driver’s license preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent desired, but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in general labor, waste management, yard work, or material handling is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical labor outdoors up to 90% of the workday, with the ability to safely lift, push, and move up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Safety Commitment: Demonstrated ability to meet all company safety standards for physical and safety-sensitive operational roles.
- Reliability: Strong attendance record, regular punctuality, and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Curbside & Site Collection: Assist Drivers with the safe collection and loading of solid waste, recycling, and organic materials along assigned routes or within facilities.
- Yard & Site Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization across the yard, warehouse, and shop facilities, including stacking pallets, sorting materials, and cart maintenance.
- Safety & Vehicle Operations: Assist Drivers with safe vehicle maneuvering and backing maneuvers in tight spaces, and ensure vehicle cabs and equipment remain clean.
- Material & Equipment Handling: Safely operate site tools and compactors, sorting recyclables into designated compartments or roll-off containers safely and efficiently.
- Reporting & Hazard Awareness: Immediately report any broken equipment, safety hazards, or operational incidents to site leadership.
- Service Quality: Maintain high standards of productivity, work site cleanliness, and positive interactions with community members and customers.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, site safety guidelines, company policies, and mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Drivers, Mechanics, and Terminal Supervisors to support seamless daily operations.
- Additional Duties: Perform other general labor and operational tasks as assigned by leadership.
