Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transportation and Resident Services:
- Safely transport residents to and from medical, behavioral health, social service, and other approved appointments.
- Collaborate with program staff to develop and maintain daily and weekly transportation schedules.
- Coordinate appointment times, transportation priorities, and scheduling changes with staff.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs, including mileage, destinations, and required documentation.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, staff, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism while maintaining appropriate boundaries with residents.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and promptly report transportation incidents, safety concerns, or behavioral issues to management.
Vehicle Inspections and Maintenance:
- Conduct and document daily, weekly, and monthly physical inspections of agency vehicles.
- Perform routine safety checks, including tires, lights, brakes, fluid levels, windshield wipers, and other essential components.
- Monitor vehicle mileage and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Develop, oversee, and maintain vehicle maintenance schedules, including routine service, inspections, and repairs.
- Coordinate maintenance appointments with approved service providers.
- Maintain accurate vehicle inspection logs, maintenance records, and service documentation.
- Identify and promptly report mechanical problems, vehicle damage, and unsafe operating conditions.
- Ensure agency vehicles remain clean, safe, and properly maintained.
Administrative and Operational Support:
- Work collaboratively with program staff to coordinate transportation for appointments, admissions, discharges, and other program needs.
- Adjust transportation schedules to accommodate changing program priorities.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid California driver's license required.
- Must have zero (0) major moving violations within the past four (4) years, including DUI, reckless driving, driving with a suspended or revoked license, hit-and-run, or other serious traffic offenses.
- Must be eligible for coverage under Center Point's automobile insurance policy and maintain eligibility throughout employment.
- Driving record must meet organizational and insurance carrier requirements.
- Minimum of two years of driving experience preferred.
- Knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance and basic automotive safety inspections.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, scheduling, and time-management abilities.
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience transporting clients in healthcare, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or social services settings.
- Experience coordinating transportation schedules and maintaining vehicle inspection and maintenance records.
- Familiarity with Sacramento County and surrounding communities.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements and professional boundaries when working with vulnerable populations.
