A Day in the Life

Our Microbiology Laboratory in Medtronic, plc, is a highly skilled, service oriented GMP laboratory supporting multiple Medtronic businesses. The Laboratory  personnel are directly involved in routine testing, support and release, new  product introduction, validation of test methods and Facility updates.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Perform routine Microbiological testing to support receiving, in-process and final lot release activities
• Adhering to all Microbiology laboratory and relevant site wide procedures and practices for Safety & GMP
• Make and record observations; perform calculations; and collect and prepare data for evaluation
• Conduct laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware
• Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements
• Participate in Laboratory investigations and deviations, initiating appropriate corrective actions and following through to implementation 
• Adhere to all Laboratory and relevant site wide procedures and practices for Safety & GMP 

 

Key Skills & Experience 

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Level 6 NFQ) in Engineering/Science or related discipline (preferably Microbiology) and 1 years relevant experience
• Preferably relevant experience in a medical devices or related environment 
• Dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross functional teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• You must think critically and make sound decisions 
• You must be focused on patient and customer and set high standards, instill operational excellence, and drive accountability
• Have a good understanding of GMP and documentation practices for a technical/professional working environment

Pay range / Rango salarial / Intervalo salarial /Fascia retributiva / Tranche de salaire / Gehaltsband / Salaribereik:  Ireland: 39,200.00 EUR - 58,800.00 EUR | 

 

The final salary within this range will be determined based on objective, job-related criteria, including relevant experience, skills and qualifications, in accordance with our compensation framework.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).
