Description
Job Summary:
Provides temporary operational support for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the Local and Over the Road Fleets. Supports load coordination and entry in the Transportation Management Software (McLeod TMS), monitors driver activity and performance through Samsara, and assists with adherence to company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Serves as a point of contact for suppliers and logistics partners, helping coordinate the availability and movement of products, packaging, and refrigerants needed to support the fulfillment network. Assists the team with day-to-day transportation and delivery activities to help maintain product integrity and timely customer deliveries.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Manages the flow of products, packaging, and refrigerants to support the distributed fulfillment network and meet customer requirements.
- Enter and manage all load data within the Transportation Management System (TMS) for complete tracking and visibility. Handles TMS billing, invoicing while helping the accounting team with monthly reports.
- Work alongside the Fleet Manager to manage daily schedules and assignments.
- Support fleet maintenance and ensure compliance with regulations for safe operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with transportation standards and policies while organizing all driver files, maintenance files and anything related to compliance.
- Support the execution of peak-season logistics plans and cross-functional projects. Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational workflows and system utilization.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including responding to operational issues during off-hours, weekends, and overnight shifts as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 2- year college degree or equivalent
- Transportation, logistics, Supply chain or Business Management preferred
- 2 years’ experience in coordination supply chain & transportation/logistics background or 4 year degree in similar field.
- Transportation Management Systems (preferably McLeod TMS)
- Experience with Samsara or other related telematics platforms is a plus.
- Ability to make sound business decisions
- Strong knowledge of freight operations, dispatching, routing, and DOT regulations
- Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate options, make decisions, and resolve operational challenges under time constraints.Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of business-critical decisions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and customers.
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
