About Tenax

Tenax delivers mission-critical airborne intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and data collection capabilities supporting U.S. Government customers worldwide. Our teams operate in dynamic environments where operational excellence, safety, responsiveness, and customer focus are essential to mission success.

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support the successful execution of airborne operations and aviation support programs. The DPM serves as a key member of the program leadership team, partnering closely with the Program Manager to oversee operational readiness, logistics, personnel coordination, customer engagement, and program execution.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can effectively balance mission requirements, customer expectations, operational demands, and personnel needs in a fast-paced aviation environment.

What You'll Do

As a Deputy Program Manager, you will support the planning, execution, and oversight of complex aviation operations and customer programs.

  • Assist in the day-to-day management and execution of airborne operations programs.

  • Support operational readiness, personnel scheduling, deployment planning, and training compliance activities.

  • Coordinate with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Material Logistics, Finance, and customer stakeholders to achieve program objectives.

  • Monitor program performance, operational metrics, schedules, deliverables, and contractual requirements.

  • Prepare and deliver program status updates, operational reports, customer briefings, and leadership communications.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with government customers, operational personnel, vendors, and leadership teams.

  • Assist in managing aircraft logistics support, mission equipment, spare parts inventories, and ground support equipment.

  • Support aircraft readiness and response activities, including Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and other mission-impacting events.

  • Participate in Program Management Reviews, operational planning meetings, and customer engagements.

  • Support vendor management activities, procurement coordination, and cost control initiatives.

  • Assist with employee onboarding, training coordination, deployment communications, and operational support activities.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall program performance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of business and mission requirements.

Basic Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience supporting aircraft operations, aviation logistics, airborne data collection, ISR operations, or related aviation programs.

  • Experience coordinating multiple priorities and stakeholders in an operational environment.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of aircraft operations, logistics support, and/or ground support equipment.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and applicable travel documentation.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the position.

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Desired Skills

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, Program Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or DAWIA Program Management certification.

  • Military aviation, logistics, or operational leadership experience.

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or other Federal Government programs.

  • Familiarity with DCMA Instruction 8210.1, Army Airworthiness Review processes, and related aviation regulations.

  • Experience supporting aircraft maintenance operations and logistics programs.

  • Experience with inventory management systems, procurement activities, and vendor management.

  • Experience with TCMAX or comparable maintenance and logistics systems.

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance preferred.

Leadership Expectations

The Deputy Program Manager is expected to:

  • Demonstrate sound judgment and leadership in support of mission success.

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration across functional organizations.

  • Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and operational excellence.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance and customer satisfaction.

Work Environment

This position may be performed in office, aircraft hangar, flight line, customer, and deployed operational environments.

Work may require:

  • Domestic and international travel.

  • Temporary assignments in austere or remote locations.

  • Work outside normal business hours when operational requirements dictate.

  • Periodic lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Exposure to aircraft operations, machinery, elevated noise levels, and changing environmental conditions.
