Working closely with GEV’s Central Communications leaders, you will direct media relations for the Power, Electrification, and Wind segments, managing the full spectrum of proactive and reactive engagement. You will serve as an architect of our public messaging, collaborating with customers on high-impact announcements and major events to showcase our role in delivering the energy that powers and decarbonizes the world.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage media efforts for GE Vernova’s business segments, elevating awareness through media relations strategies that reflect the breadth and depth of the portfolio.
- Create and execute proactive and reactive communications plans for business segments, collaborating with leaders within the business and the central communications teams.
- Create and distribute external communications for varying channels, including press releases, stakeholder preparation materials, talking points, fact sheets and more.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key global media, including industry and business, reporters, navigating narratives shaped by political, regulatory, and market forces.
- Operate at the intersection of demand growth, industrial strategy, technology, and media, translating complex market dynamics into clear, compelling narratives that accurately reflect GE Vernova’s market position and performance.
- Align communications strategy to business objectives with a deep understanding of commercial execution, and growth opportunities across priority regions.
- In alignment with the corporate / central communications team, manage issue and crisis communications proactively identifying emerging risks, assessing potential impact, and developing strategies to protect and strengthen both company and industry reputation.
- Support strategic event planning and execution at major commercial events including CERA Week, COP and CIGRE.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the business segments, ensuring they are informed, prepared, and aligned on evolving launches, customer announcements, and external narratives.
- Strengthen communications processes, standard work and operating rhythms to enable speed, consistency, and effectiveness in both proactive storytelling and reactive response.
- Work closely with key customer external communications teams and plan and maintain a calendar of storytelling around customer successes, innovation and thought leadership.
- Stay informed on news cycle domestically and internationally, particularly around business priorities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or related field from an accredited university or college.
- 15+years’ experience; ideally in a multi-national company environment.
- Genuine passion for the energy industry and the future of energy.
- Strong written communications skills with the ability to communicate in a language that focuses on business benefits and customer outcomes.
Desired Characteristics:
- Demonstrated experience in the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors, with a strong understanding of the market, competitive landscape, and key drivers shaping the industry.
- Excellent understanding of media relations field; proven track record of successful media relations work across related technologies.
- Experience working with multinational C-suite executives.
- Ability to work well within a senior level communications team environment.
- Experience working with large-cap customers and partnering on announcements, launches and industry events.
- Experience owning and managing presence at large industry, international events.
- Experience working with corporate communications on a wide range of energy relation issues and criss communications.
- Experience managing agencies.
- Creative thinker, with proven ability to generate new ideas and leverage all available tools.
- Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel internationally and regularly work outside of standard business hours.
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $196,000 and $294,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
