Job Description:
This position owns the development and execution of supplier capability plans across the assigned strategic supplier portfolio. Build manufacturing capacity and operational maturity to support current production, new product ramps, Mexico localization and long-term growth. Align Procurement, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Operations and Supply Planning around priorities, measurable milestones and timely risk escalation.
Main responsibilities
Supplier strategy and capability development
• Prioritize supplier development work based on business need, performance losses, growth opportunities and risk.
• Lead assessments of manufacturing capability, capacity, operational maturity and readiness for new business and engineering changes; define and drive supplier roadmaps with owners and milestones.
• Build repeatable supplier development methods, including maturity assessments, scorecards and management routines, adapted to supplier needs.
Supplier performance and recovery
• Direct cross functional recovery plans for suppliers with delivery, quality, productivity or capacity gaps; establish leading indicators, corrective actions and verification of sustained results.
• Facilitate structured problem solving with suppliers and internal technical experts; escalate barriers with clear business impact and recommended actions.
Capacity, ramp and localization
• Validate capacity against demand and ramp plans; identify constraints in equipment, labor, materials, process capability and planning before they affect supply.
• Coordinate supplier expansion and Mexico localization readiness with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Operations and Supply Planning.
Leadership and governance
• Serve as the accountable supplier development contact for the assigned portfolio, aligning functions and supplier leaders on priorities, decisions and execution.
• Lead regular performance and readiness reviews; maintain transparent status, risks, decisions and follow up for leadership.
• Coach supplier teams and internal partners in operational excellence, daily management and ownership of corrective actions; guide assigned team members where applicable.
• Assess business continuity, EHS, quality and regulatory risks at suppliers and engage the appropriate functional owners for action.
Tools you need to bring with you
-Bachelor’s Degree / Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, or other related Engineering discipline)
-7+ years in manufacturing, supplier development, operations, or supplier quality, including leadership of complex cross functional initiatives; people management experience preferred
