Help Desk / Desktop Support Analyst – Contract (Raleigh, NC)

Mfinite Consulting is building a pool of help desk and desktop support professionals for contract assignments with North Carolina state and public-sector agencies in the Raleigh area. Assignments typically run 6–12 months; agencies set the schedule (onsite or hybrid).

Pay & Schedule

• $26 – $32 per hour, based on experience and skill level
• Full-time, about 40 hours per week, business hours
• Contract assignment; W-2 hourly employee of Mfinite Consulting LLC
• Direct deposit

What You'll Do

• Answer phone, email and ticket requests from state employees and resolve hardware, software, account and network issues
• Log, prioritize and update tickets in ServiceNow or a similar ITSM tool
• Reset passwords and manage user accounts (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, NCID or similar)
• Image, deploy and set up laptops, desktops, printers, phones and peripherals
• Provide hands-on and remote support; escalate complex issues to the right team
• Write clear notes and simple how-to guides for common fixes

What You Need

• 1+ year of help desk, service desk or desktop support experience (more for senior assignments)
• Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and remote support tools
• Experience with a ticketing system (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira Service Management or similar)
• Clear, patient communication with non-technical users
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; able to pass a background check
• Able to report onsite in the Raleigh area as the assignment requires

Great Fit If You Have

• CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+; HDI or ITIL Foundation
• Prior state or local government IT support experience
