This position is hybrid, with an expectation of on-site presence at the client's site in Washington, D.C., at least two days per week.  However, for highly qualified candidates, a fully remote arrangement will be considered. Occasional travel may be required, up to 25%.

Responsibilities:

In this dynamic and highly collaborative role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the collection and refinement of operational concepts, mission requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Evaluating emerging technologies and advising on mission applicability.

  • Supporting acquisition strategy and system lifecycle management.
  • Coordinating integration activities across multiple engineering domains and system components.
  • Conducting cost-benefit analysis and alternative solution assessments.
  • Preparing investment justifications and technical documentation to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Planning and guiding system testing, and analyzing test data for performance verification.
  • Conducting engineering analyses to assess feasibility, risk, and performance of proposed systems.
  • Providing expertise in aircraft subsystem requirements, particularly in cooling and power distribution.
  • Applying knowledge and experience in radar and sensor systems to system integration efforts.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Must hold an active Secret security clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret clearance
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, including:
    • Integration of complex systems involving multiple engineering domains (e.g., software, communications, control systems, and electronic hardware).
    • Demonstrated experience supporting large- and medium-scale Federal technology initiatives.
    • Subject matter expertise in telecommunications, imagery, sensors, radar, or comparable systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform research and analysis outside one's core field of education.
    • Hands-on experience in test and evaluation across various phases, including proof-of-concept and system acceptance.
    • Proficiency in Federal project management methodologies across all lifecycle phases, including scheduling, risk management, and work breakdown structures.
    • Experience with the Federal acquisition process related to both systems and services procurement.
    • Expertise in full lifecycle cost estimation and budget planning for complex systems.

Desired:

  • Master of Science in engineering, systems management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Deep familiarity with systems engineering and management standards and best practices used across both industry and Federal Government technology programs.
  • Experience supporting investment management and capital planning activities.
  • Prior experience with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Systems Engineering Life Cycle and Acquisition Review Process.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams, including collaboration with operations, budgeting, and program leadership in the Federal space.
  • Experience working on DHS or Department of Defense (DoD) technology programs is strongly preferred.
