This role leads our retail marketing strategy, tasked with moving beyond transactional release management to drive long-term growth and market influence. As a key strategic partner, you will cultivate high-level relationships with DSPs, translating data-driven insights into comprehensive, forward-looking marketing plans. You are a champion for independent music, possessing the creative flair to support our artists through intentional, high-impact activations, placements, and strategic partnerships that elevate content and expand our reach across India & global platforms. Your focus is on scaling our influence, shaping the retail landscape, and ensuring our repertoire remains at the forefront of the music industry.
What you'll do:
- Find opportunities with DSPs to activate our catalogue and frontline through partnerships, IPs, and activations.
- Ensure our artists are featured on key DSP social channels (at least 1-2 a quarter).
- Prepare a monthly plan in collaboration with the data team to ensure products are placed and partnered across key DSPs globally, driving maximum visibility for artists and labels in diaspora markets.
- Create a monthly or quarterly plan to map all key updates, product changes, and new offerings on DSP platforms.
- Ensure monthly meeting cadences with key DSPs are in place to maintain and strengthen relationships.
- Work with the Head of Marketing & Head of label management team to identify key cultural / pop trends in the market and educate labels/artists.
- Work with the Global office on growth & performance marketing using our inhouse paid media teams on key releases for our Indian labels/artists.
- Coordinate with regional market leads to identify export opportunities and provide key local opportunities for international artists releasing music / touring.
Who you are:
- 5-7 years of experience in digital marketing, with a minimum of 3+ years focused specifically on music marketing at a label, distributor, or DSP.
- Proven, demonstrable track record of successfully launching and managing music campaigns that resulted in significant growth in streams or playlist placements.
- Experience working within a label, artist management or distribution system managing releases, projects or relationships
- Established relationships with key contacts at major DSP is a significant advantage.
- Deep understanding of the pitching tools, editorial workflows, algorithmic levers, and promotional opportunities across all major DSPs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret streaming data and performance insights to optimize campaign execution and support strategic decision-making.
- Knowledge of social marketing, online video platforms, digital advertising, and online promotional outlets
- High level of awareness and passion for local independent labels and artists
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relationship-driven with a creative and analytical mind, with the ability to work proactively and autonomously.
