As a Project Manager – Steam and Condensate Systems at Valmet, you will support the Tissue Service Business and work to ensure delivery of the expected benefits to the customer are consistent with contract requirements. You will manage projects for profitability, on time deliveries, and customer satisfaction from the time of the sale to the end of the warranty period.
Main responsibilities will include:
1. PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
- Maintain systems, procedures and reports as required for control of project costs with the objective of maintaining or exceeding budgeted profit.
- Monthly cost control and project status reports.
- Monitor Project activities and collaborate with Applications Specialists and Product Manager to ensure customer satisfaction within budgeted costs.
- Maintain documented record of assigned projects in accordance with established policies and procedures for project handling, engineering, applications/sales and clerical activities.
- Project co-ordination and scheduling activities in engineering and design, equipment purchasing, manufacturing, delivery and installation.
- Coordinate projects involving tissue machine air systems, steam and condensate systems, Yankee hood systems, heat recovery systems, ventilation systems, and associated process equipment.
- Final equipment selections.
2. DRAWING/DESIGN:
- Oversee and co-ordinate activities of assigned Project Team. This includes timely production of drawing/design review, checking and day-to-day guidance of design activities to assure conformance with "as-sold" specifications and customer expectations.
- Responsible for final design and engineering verification with assistance from Product Managers as required.
3. SALES:
- Seek and process opportunities to extend value of assigned projects including preparation of estimates and proposals related to new sales for these projects.
4. PRODUCT SUPPORT:
- With the overall objective of continuous improvement to product lines, provide Product Managers with feedback concerning design, constructability, costs, etc.
Expectations:
Higher education degree in Mechanical, Technical, Pulp and Paper or a closely related field is required. Preferred 5-year minimum experience with project management or leading projects. Industry-related Project Management experience is essential.
Travel will be required – estimate could reach more than 50%
