Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure the reliability of plant systems and equipment by performing predictive, preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance while supporting safe, efficient operations across the facility. You will coach team members, support training, and help maintain clean, safe work areas while ensuring all work aligns with safety, quality, and food standards.
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday & weekends as needed
6:00am - 2:30pm.
A Taste of Your Responsibilities:
- Complete Daily Shift Reports at the end of shift before leaving for the day
- Attend DDS meetings for your area daily (where applicable)
- Arrive on time and be prepared to discuss action items
- Review all defects submitted so the Line Structure Team can discuss and approve corrective work
- Work hand in hand with maintenance supervisors to drive improvement in the department
- Audit equipment guarding daily to make sure all fasteners are in place and not removable by hand
- Teach and mentor new hires as well as current employees
- Work with planners to identify work needed
- Audit PM’ verbiage for opportunities to improve and audit the completion of PMs regularly for your area
- Promote teamwork with the crew to drive improvement
- Mitigate issues to reduce absenteeism rate and tardiness in your team
- Demonstrate the highest level of respect for coworkers and supervisors
- Look for ways to streamline procedures and processes without jeopardizing accuracy
- Look for ways to improve safety of guarding, LOTO, and food safety and quality of the product
- Keep supervisor informed in a timely manner of problems that may/will result in a large amount of downtime
- Ensure all accidents or incidents are reported and documented in an accurate and timely manner
- Consult with supervisor regarding situations outside the scope of authority
- Provide performance guidance and training for mechanics
- Recommend corrective actions when appropriate
- Provide fair performance appraisals when requested
- Evaluate new hire and maintenance trainee progress Maintain a good working relationship with fellow mechanics and treat everyone equally
- Work with supervisors to delegate assignments when necessary
Ingredients Required for Your Success:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Previous supervisory or lead experience in a maintenance environment
- Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience
- Knowledge of commercial manufacturing equipment, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing equipment
- Technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and control systems
