Senior Manager, Technology Program Management

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Manager to provide technology management expertise in a cross functional role leading engineers and software development staff supporting mission solutions development and new business pursuits. This multi-faceted role combines mission software development technical and management skills. The role initially focuses on supporting prototype development using AI/ML to modernize software for ongoing programs and new business pursuits, advising on agile program management, performing agile program schedule management, performing agile product management, and developing basis of estimates for programs and pursuits. We are seeking an individual with strong communication abilities and with very effective technical and team collaboration skills to help manage growth of existing programs. The Senior Manager shall be the driving force in evolving the AI-assisted software modernization culture to support future growth pipeline needs while continuing on-contract growth for existing programs.This position will be located in Reston, VA onsite.

 

What you'll do:

• Serve as the primary interface to Government and Industry leadership, Contracting Officers, and senior mission stakeholders. 
• Maintain full accountability for project performance across cost, schedule, and technical execution.
• Develops goals, budget, and strategic business plans.
• Maintains market position of AI-assisted code modernization by managing existing modernization efforts and competitive market information.
• Recommends ways to expand sales and profitability in specific defense software markets.
• Participate and contribute expertise to the full lifecycle of new business pursuits, including participation in non-traditional oral presentations.
• Lead program financial management including forecasting, EACs, staffing strategy, and cost control.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks across technical, operational, and financial domains.
• Lead executive-level briefings, program management reviews (PMRs), and customer engagements. 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

• Clearance:  Active Secret security clearance
• 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience
• 5 years with leading Agile SW Management Experience
• PMP and Agile certifications
• Experience leading teams delivering complex, scalable software systems
• Experience and track record delivering capabilities to Department of War
• Strong background in software architecture, system design, and SDLC execution
• Experience with cloud-based environments and modernization efforts
• Experience in integrating COTS products with custom software solutions
• Experience applying Agile/DevSecOps methodologies and secure development practices
• Strong communication skills with experience engaging technical teams and customer stakeholders
• Ability to identify areas to improve and be open to change, and drive that change across the teams
• Experience with capture and growth activities, including customer presentations, responses to sources sought, proposals, and oral presentations

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with DOW mission systems and systems engineering processes
• Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with cloud-native architecture and hybrid environments
• Experience with AI-assisted code development tools, Agentic AI, and LLMs

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
