Job Description:
The Inside Sales Engineer will support both inside sales and estimating responsibilities within a small, collaborative team. This position is focused entirely on inbound customer and project requests and does not include outside sales responsibilities.
The ideal candidate does not need extensive HVAC experience. Air Components is open to someone with a construction background who understands how to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project documents and is interested in learning the commercial HVAC industry.
This person will work with customers and internal team members to review project requirements, identify appropriate products and solutions, prepare estimates and pricing, and support projects through the sales process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review customer requests, project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Assist with preparing estimates, pricing, and quotes for commercial HVAC projects.
- Support inbound customer requests by phone and email.
- Work with customers to understand their needs and help identify appropriate products or solutions.
- Review plans and project documents to identify equipment and product requirements.
- Assist with product selection and estimating activities.
- Prepare and organize quote information for customer review.
- Support order processing and project related sales activities.
- Communicate with customers regarding pricing, product information, availability, and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate project, customer, and estimating information.
- Work closely with the estimating, engineering, and sales teams to support customer and project needs.
- Assist with additional inside sales and estimating responsibilities as needed.
Experience and Requirements:
- Construction related experience preferred.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or similar technical documents.
- Extensive HVAC experience is not required.
- Candidates earlier in their careers are encouraged to apply.
- No engineering degree required.
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction by phone and email.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret project information accurately.
- Comfortable working with numbers, pricing, and basic estimating.
- Ability to manage multiple customer and project requests at the same time.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- QuickBooks experience is not required.
- Willingness and ability to learn commercial HVAC products and applications.
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
Compensation and Schedule:
- $28 to $30 per hour, depending on experience.
- Annual discretionary bonus opportunity, typically around 10% of salary.
- No commission initially.
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Full time onsite position in Memphis, TN.
