A Day in the Life

The Cranial Spinal Technologies (CST) business supports healthcare professionals with a broad portfolio of solutions for cranial and spinal procedures, including surgical navigation, advanced imaging, robotics, cranial and spine technologies, powered surgical instruments, biologics, and related services. The team partners closely with hospitals and healthcare providers across Iberia to support patient care through innovative medical technologies. This role is based in Madrid and supports both Spain and Portugal. The position follows a hybrid working model, combining office-based and remote work. Tender activity may create occasional workload peaks around fixed customer submission deadlines.

The CST Tender Specialist coordinates public and private tenders across the Cranial Spinal Technologies portfolio in Iberia. This position manages tender activities from early planning through submission, award analysis, contract documentation and archiving while working closely with Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Quality, Customer Care and European product teams. The role requires developing expertise across the CST portfolio and supporting continuous improvement through data analysis, automation and approved artificial intelligence solutions.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Coordinate the end-to-end tender process, including planning, requirements review, documentation preparation, submission, award analysis, contract administration and archiving
• Partner with Sales, Marketing and business leaders to support tender planning, evaluate customer requirements and identify appropriate portfolio solutions
• Prepare, review and manage technical, commercial and administrative documentation to ensure complete, accurate and timely tender submissions
• Monitor tender opportunities, contract renewals, amendments and submission deadlines across Spain and Portugal, communicating risks and requirements to stakeholders
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the CST portfolio, including product configurations, clinical applications, accessories and service requirements
• Maintain tender intelligence and reporting resources by tracking specifications, competitor participation, pricing references, awards and market trends
• Analyse tender outcomes and historical data to support future tender responses and commercial decision-making
• Improve tender-management processes through reusable templates, document libraries, automation tools and approved artificial intelligence solutions while maintaining appropriate oversight and accountability.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A first experience minimum managing tenders, contracts, sales operations, commercial administration, technical documentation processes or other complex administrative workflows
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and fixed submission deadlines simultaneously
• Fluent Spanish and English, both written and spoken
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI or Data analysis experience
• Strong organizational, written communication, research and document-management skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, coordinate stakeholders across a matrix organization and quickly learn a technically complex product portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing public tenders in Spain, Portugal or broader Iberia
• Experience within the medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical or another regulated industry
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences or Law
• Advanced Power Automate or workflow automation experience
• Fluent Portuguese, both written and spoken
• Experience using generative artificial intelligence or intelligent document-processing tools in a professional environment.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
