Title and Summary

Vice President, Financial Crime & Identity Solutions

The Security Solutions organization leads product management and innovation across Mastercard solutions that address evolving risk, security, and trust needs.

Within Security Solutions, Financial Crime Solutions develops payment data-powered solutions to detect and prevent financial crime, fraud, scams, and identity risk. The team also leads the Asia Pacific Cyber and Scam Centre of Excellence, combining data science and payments expertise to help institutions and partners address criminal behaviours behind fraud, scams, and money laundering.

Overview

This role develops and executes the Asia Pacific strategy for Mastercard’s Financial Crime and Identity solutions, spanning implementation, commercialization, partnerships, and adoption across governments, financial institutions, e-commerce platforms, digital players, and priority segments.

The role owns performance tracking, budget forecasting, external narratives, communications, and stakeholder engagement to scale Mastercard’s offerings across Asia Pacific. It includes leading subject matter experts and mobilizing product, customer success, delivery, and business development teams to meet financial objectives and drive market impact.

The role collaborates closely with global, regional, product, technology, data science, franchise, sales, and customer-facing teams to align requirements, market feedback, solution development, and go-to-market execution.

The Role

Thought Leadership and Advocacy

Position Mastercard as a trusted advisor across Asia Pacific on financial crime, identity, fraud, scams, and cyber resilience.

Represent Mastercard in regional forums, industry events, and policy dialogues to advance adoption of Financial Crime and Identity solutions.

Lead executive narratives, external communications, white papers, industry engagement, academic partnerships, and senior leader talk tracks.

Owning Go-To-Market Strategy for Financial Crime and Identity Solutions

Develop and execute the Asia Pacific go-to-market strategy, including:

Prioritize markets, customer segments, and deployment opportunities.

Assess local regulatory, policy, data, technology, and operational requirements.

Strengthen understanding of offerings, features, commercialization needs, and RFP responses for Financial Crime and Identity solutions.

Policy / Standards / Regulation Enablement: Advocate for policies, standards, and regulations that support solution deployment and adoption.

Buying Centre Engagement: Identify and engage relevant buying centres, decision makers, and influencers across Asia Pacific to support go-to-market and deployment plans.

New Opportunity Qualification: Guide qualification of new sales opportunities and educate internal and external stakeholders on how Financial Crime and Identity solutions work and can be deployed.

New Use Case Development: Identify new customer use cases and partner with global product teams to develop propositions that resonate with Asia Pacific customers.

Partnership Building

Engage strategic partners, including Big Tech, governments, multilateral organizations, technology providers, and industry associations, to advance Mastercard’s Financial Crime and Identity and Centre of Excellence objectives.

Build coalitions that foster innovation, shared best practices, and scalable ecosystem responses to fraud and scams across markets.

Maintain strong partnerships with Mastercard regional sales teams, divisional product teams, and other internal verticals

Collaborate broadly with internal stakeholders to surface and scale success, including case studies, repeatable narratives, and responses to consultation papers relevant to financial crime, data sharing, and cross-border money movement.

Demonstrate thought leadership, product and technology development expertise, and strong project management skills to integrate technology into new product and service solutions.

Generate ideas, validate concepts, and shape product designs for new services and product enhancements.

Experienced leader with 15-20+ years of experience leading teams, setting direction, demonstrating humility and decisiveness, and building strong cross-functional and executive relationships.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build credibility, influence stakeholders, and empower high-performing teams through trust, autonomy, accountability, and innovation.

Ability to navigate technical complexity across account-to-account, blockchain, and crypto flows, assess security implications, and shape solutions for emerging risks.

Proven ability to engage & influence senior stakeholders across banks, e-commerce, governments, and ecosystem partners to drive regional initiatives.

Cross-functional leadership experience managing multiple complex projects concurrently and delivering high-quality outcomes under tight timelines.

Knowledge and experience in payments, cybersecurity, identity, fraud, authentication products, and the broader payment ecosystem.

Ability to embrace complexity while articulating clear, simple, and actionable priorities.

Strong executive communication skills, cross-functional / multi stakeholder management skills, strategic thinking, problem solving & analytical skills

Ability to converse in, or understand, multiple Asia Pacific languages, such as Chinese or Japanese, is a plus.
