SUMMARY
Reviewing new business submissions and evaluating the risk for referral to our markets or for placement/binding within our binders per our contract guidelines and assisting renewal underwriters in retaining business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following:
- Adherence to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales target goals.
- Attend regular team meetings and be ready to contribute with ideas, feedback and intel
- When speaking with brokers inquiring about and requesting submissions on additional business opportunities the broker may have in their office, which Special Risk has an appetite for.
- Generation of Lead development for new business through a variety of techniques including sales calls, tradeshow participation, broker calls/visits (in person and virtual) and e-mail solicitation.
- Responsible for maintaining renewal accounts in addition to new business opportunities, working within Special Risk’s Underwriting Guidelines while adding value and integrity to the Special Risk Insurance Managers culture.
- Responsible for growing and maintaining Retail Broker relationships while performing sales and service within Special Risk’s Guidelines.
- Responsible for maintaining and developing underwriting relationships with current Carriers to ensure positive results.
- Reviewing new and renewal business applications and opportunities to confirm that information is appropriate to determine placement of coverage.
- Propagate & share high level commentary & market intelligence to your team lead or SRIM management team.
- Work to mentor and develop junior people on the Underwriting and Retention teams, including sign off where applicable
- Look for & share opportunities for increased efficiencies in workflow or product development that would lead to increased production volume
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Level 1 - General Insurance license or higher
CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP or working towards a designation.
8+ Years Commercial Insurance Experience with willingness to further develop Underwriting Analysis & Products skillset
Pay Range
80000 - 110000 AnnualActual salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and work location. Package may include base pay, commissions, and/or bonuses.
