Manager, First Shift Quality Control

What You'll Be Doing
You'll provide guidance and supervision to hourly Microbiology technicians, ensuring all testing and support activities are completed efficiently.
Motivate, train, and resolve problems for your team while maintaining a compliant and safe environment.
Administer personnel policies in accordance with the local bargaining agreement.
Manage critical testing and/or assaying of validation, raw material, process intermediates, and finished product samples.
Supervise hourly employees in their testing duties, including scheduling work assignments based on priorities.
Promote teamwork and foster open communication.
Keep our SOPs, Process Specific Training Modules, and Test Methods up to date.
Train personnel to ensure all employees are competent and qualified to perform their duties.
Ensure lab work is conducted accurately and timely.
Critically evaluate data and recommend acceptance or rejection of samples to ensure quality.
Maintain thorough records, develop productivity improvement plans, and manage inventory of supplies.
Support deviation investigations, handle out-of-trend results, and manage test failures associated with product manufacture, release testing, and stability testing.
Investigate safety and environmental incidents and near misses to improve our work environment.
Continuously improve laboratory quality and assays using lean principles.
Play an integral role in supporting regulatory inspections and training Laboratory Operations managers and/or technicians.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Required
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Virology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
You bring at least three years of post-degree laboratory, manufacturing, or quality control experience.
Your strong verbal and written communication skills help you thrive in team settings.
You possess good interpersonal and supervisory skills, making you a natural leader.
Demonstrated ability or aptitude for continuous learning and analytical problem-solving.
Preferred
You have experience with biological assays and/or biochemistry-based assays.
Knowledge of cGMP regulations is a big plus.
An advanced degree is an added advantage

The salary range for this role is
$96,200.00 - $151,400.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
