About the Role
The Server Assistant supports the front-of-house team in delivering a complete full-service dining experience from the moment guests arrive until they leave. This role helps maintain a clean, welcoming, and service-ready dining room while assisting with table service, food delivery, takeout orders, and other guest needs.
Server Assistants work closely with servers, hosts, bartenders, kitchen team members, and managers to keep service running smoothly, tables turning efficiently, and guests feeling welcomed and cared for throughout their visit.
Position Qualifications and Requirements
- Restaurant, hospitality, or guest service experience preferred but not required; training is provided.
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional manner with a genuine interest in hospitality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant while remaining organized, attentive, and composed.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to assist others as service needs change.
- Ability to follow service, sanitation, food handling, and workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Pleasant, polite manner and a neat, clean appearance.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Weekend availability is required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check, when applicable, in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Essential Functions
Safety and Sanitation
- Follow company safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
- Maintain clean, safe, and clear dining and service areas.
- Promptly address spills, broken glass, wet floors, and other hazards.
- Handle dishes, glassware, bus tubs, hot plates, and cleaning products safely.
- Report unsafe conditions, injuries, or damaged equipment to management.
Guest Service and Hospitality
- Welcome and acknowledge guests as they enter, move through, and leave the restaurant.
- Support servers in providing attentive, friendly, and timely service throughout the guest experience.
- Assist guests with appropriate requests and communicate service needs promptly to the serving team or manager.
- Maintain awareness of the dining room and respond quickly when tables, guests, or teammates need support.
Dining Room and Table Support
- Set, clear, clean, sanitize, and reset tables according to T’s service and cleanliness standards.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, utensils, and other items efficiently while minimizing disruption to guests.
- Maintain clean floors, chairs, booths, highchairs, menus, service areas, and other assigned front-of-house spaces.
- Stock and organize server stations, beverage areas, takeout supplies, utensils, condiments, and other service items as needed.
- Complete assigned opening, shift-change, side-work, cleaning, stocking, and closing responsibilities.
Food Running and Order Support
- Assist with pulling, organizing, and delivering food to the correct tables while following food safety and service standards.
- Communicate clearly with servers, kitchen team members, and managers regarding missing items, special requests, or service concerns.
- Handle and package takeout and delivery orders accurately, neatly, and according to company procedures.
- Support beverage service, table maintenance, and other service steps as assigned and permitted.
Teamwork and Restaurant Operations
- Work closely with restaurant team members and managers to support smooth restaurant operations.
- Assist teammates during busy periods and help maintain service readiness throughout the shift.
- Follow company standards for guest service, cleanliness, sanitation, food handling, safety, and professional conduct.
- Attend scheduled team meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
What to Expect
This is a hands-on, fast-paced front-of-house role in a full-service breakfast and lunch restaurant. Server Assistants spend most of the shift moving throughout the dining room, clearing and resetting tables, delivering food, stocking service areas, supporting takeout orders, and helping the service team respond to guest needs.
Hours vary based on team member availability, scheduling needs, and the needs of the restaurant. Weekend availability is required.

Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull dishes, bus tubs, trays, supplies, and other items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Safely carry plates, glassware, utensils, trays, and food through active dining and service areas.
- Work around hot food, beverages, kitchen equipment, cleaning products, wet floors, and other restaurant conditions.
- Use cleaning tools, sanitation products, service equipment, and restaurant systems safely and properly.
