Mobility Manager

The Newaygo County Transit Department is seeking a compassionate, resourceful, and community-minded professional to fill the Mobility Manager position. The selected candidate will work to improve access to transportation throughout the community by connecting individuals, community partners, and local transportation providers to help bridge transportation gaps across municipal boundaries. 

Typical Schedule: Monday – Friday, five hours daily, times will be flexible between 8 to 5.

1. Connect community partners with local transportation providers to bridge transportation gaps across municipal boundaries. 
2. Develop and present specialized education to promote access to transportation for seniors and people with disabilities. 
3. Facilitate travel training, direct orientation, and individualized trip planning for vulnerable populations. 
4. Provide one-on-one training and support to potential passengers, including visiting the homes of passengers and assisting with making a transportation reservation and riding along with the passenger. 
5. Assist passengers with accessing insurance benefits for medical-related transportation by acting as a liaison between the passengers, medical providers, commercial transportation providers, and insurance companies.

Education: High school graduation or equivalent is required; Associate degree is preferred.
Experience: Two years of prior communications or customer service experience, preferably with some graphic design marketing, and social media experience. Experience working with older adults and/or people with disabilities and experience with insurance billing is preferred. 
Other: Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License
