Description
This is an hourly position in Manteno, IL. that reports to the Warehouse Manager. The Logistics Coordinator is the position responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics / transportation operations of the company including those with 3PL providers.
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the movement and distribution of goods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations while meeting customer requirements. This position leads a logistics specialist, collaborating with various departments, and developing strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency.

· Oversee transportation activities, including route planning, carrier selection, and freight negotiation, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers and monitor service quality.
· Prepare and or supervise the preparation of customs paperwork.
Inventory Management:
· Work with Inventory to continuously evaluate target inventory levels and distribution of finished goods to guarantee the on-time and in-full fulfilment of customer orders while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
Management of 3PL Providers:
· Manage the bridge between YU SC Operations and 3PL partners as the central transportation point to plan and execute inbound/outbound product movement.
· Bring a spotlight to inbound/outbound product supply ensuring clarity between operations, sales, finance on status of products, expected shipment and arrival dates, and insights to anything driving changes to plan.
· Coordination with partners in sourcing, operations, warehouse to ensure the timely shipment and complete visibility of inbound/outbound product with the goal of maximizing stock and OTIF rates across the network, while minimizing cost.
· Work with the operations, development, and BI teams to build out tools and processes to drive transparent awareness throughout the organization around inbound/outbound product.
· Manage a set of KPIs to hold 3PLs accountable to ensure high stock and OTIF rates.
· Utilize exceptional problem-solving and communication skills to influence business, operations, and technical audiences.
Safety and Compliance:
· Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment for team members in accordance with company policies and health and safety regulations, including training, coaching, and monitoring of safe practices.
· Enforce safety guidelines and adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
· Conduct regular safety training sessions for logistics staff.
· Perform safety investigations and complete appropriate safety documentation.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP):
· Be familiar with established S.O.P.’s and assure implementation.
· Evaluate departments' performance compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.’s) adjusting procedures and priorities as needed.
· Supervise the processing area activities to ensure that the departments perform within established S.O.P.’s, and results meet or exceed company goals.
Communication:
· Discuss with the Direct Supervisor/Manager any situations that affect the department’s goal attainment and suggest solutions.
· Maintain effective communication with other supervisors concerning mutual problems.
Requirements
Knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of Transportation Management, Supply Chain, Forecasting Strategies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of ERP Systems
