About the Client
A leading global digital banking platform and one of the largest neobanks in Latin America, headquartered in Brazil. The company provides a mobile-first suite of financial services—including credit cards, savings accounts, and investments—designed to eliminate bureaucracy and high fees. By leveraging advanced data analytics and a customer-centric digital infrastructure, the organization delivers transparent and accessible financial solutions to millions of users across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, production-grade data pipelines.
- Transform, integrate, and model data from multiple sources to support analytical and business use cases.
- Develop and optimize data processing solutions using Scala and Apache Spark.
- Design and implement reliable data models following modern data engineering and analytics best practices.
- Implement automated data quality, testing, monitoring, and observability practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, investigate root causes, and optimize pipeline and platform performance.
- Build reliable and maintainable solutions with a strong focus on scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, Analytics teams, Product teams, and other stakeholders.
- Take ownership of technical solutions throughout the full lifecycle, from design and development through production support.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and other engineering activities while applying sound technical judgment.
- Contribute to engineering best practices, technical standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across engineering teams.
What You Bring
- Professional experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering.
- Proven experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, including complex queries and data transformations.
- Professional experience developing with Scala.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark or a similar distributed data processing framework.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and analytical data structures.
- Experience implementing data quality and data validation practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional engineering environments.
- Good communication skills and ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and solutions.
Nice to have
- Experience with Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.
- Knowledge of Data Governance principles and practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Experience working with large-scale data platforms and distributed data processing environments.
- Experience with data observability and monitoring tools.
- Experience with automated testing for data pipelines.
- Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
