JOB TITLE: AUTOMATION ENGINEER
2. MANPOWER SPECIFICATIONS
2.1 Job Description
To work as an Automation Engineer with the prime responsibility to ensure that Company.
Automation Systems are maintained in an efficient and economical way to improve the
safety, quality, quantity and environmental aspects of production. Also ensure that all
activities are carried out in compliance with Company Management Systems and aligned with Company Strategy.
2.2 Responsibilities
Maintain Automation Systems to ensure high uptime, MTBF and cyber compliance
Establish and implement various maintenance schedules for automation systems
Supervise the work of staff for conformity, good engineering practices, international
standards, functional safety and cyber security compliance.
Planning, prioritization, execution and monitoring of engineering activities to ensure
compliance to sound engineering principles and practices.
Execute and support various Automation Projects, prepare cost proposal and
coordinate engineering tasks, planning, procurement, manpower hiring, Installation
& Commissioning in compliance with Company change management procedure.
Implement and follow up cyber security controls and compliance requirements set by
company to protect the automation assets and to ensure business continuity.
Analyze, determine root-cause and recommend solutions for technical problems
associated with the Automation Systems to improve maintenance and uptime.
Planning of spare parts and periodic review of safety stock based on the consumption
to ensure availability of spares.
Review inputs for development of group level operating budget to ensure adequate
provision to carry out the maintenance of automation systems and implement the
planned activities.
Ensure technical documentation of Automation Systems are current.
Participate in the call duty to provide maintenance support outside working hours.
Comply with all relevant procedures of Company Integrated Management System
comprising of Occupational Health and Safety, Quality, Environment, Responsible
Care, IFA Product Stewardship & energy Management System
2.3 Educational Qualification and Experience
Bachelor's Degree (4 years) in Instrumentation / Electronics
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in Industrial Control Systems in
Petrochemical or Fertilizer industries.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting experience in the following Turbo Machinery
Control and Protection Systems
o Bently Nevada Vibration and Axial Monitoring System
o CCC Anti surge Control System
o Triconex ITCC Systems
o Woodward and Jaquet Over Speed Protection Systems
o Woodward Electronic Governors
o MARK VIe Systems for Gas Turbines
Maintenance and Troubleshooting experience in Fire & Gas and Burner Management
Systems.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting experience in the following DCS/ESD Control
systems
o Honeywell Experion Systems
o Honeywell Safety Systems
o Triconex Safety Systems
o Siemens S7 PLC System
o Allen Bradley PLC Systems
Certification in functional safety is preferred.
Knowledge in the areas of computer hardware and software maintenance
Knowledge of Cyber Security guidelines and networking
Middle East working experience is preferred.
Good communication and technical report writing skills in English
Team working attitude in multi-cultural and multi-national working environment
