Sr. Software Engineer

As a .NET Application Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality .NET web applications that support business transaction and reporting needs. You will collaborate with team members to determine design specifications, participate in code reviews, and contribute to internal infrastructure and process improvements. Your role will require strong technical competency, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an environment that values quality, commitment, growth, and innovation. You will also assist with production problem resolution as needed, including occasional off-hour support

Application & API Development: 

• Develop .NET web applications and RESTful APIs, performing technical design, code development, documentation, and test plan generation. 

• Design and implement solutions following microservices architecture and established design patterns (e.g., Dependency Injection, Repository pattern). 

• Maintain a sustained track record of delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget. 

Cloud-Native Development & DevOps: 

• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (primary) and Microsoft Azure. 

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes. 

Application Security: 

• Follow secure coding practices to protect against common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, including SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF). 

• Implement authentication and authorization using industry standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT. 

• Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities in application dependencies and third-party packages. 

• Support compliance and data protection requirements applicable to the application. 

Data Management: 

• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data related to web applications for transactions and reporting. 

• Design database schemas and optimize queries for performance and data integrity. 

Testing & Quality Assurance: 

• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests, and participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards. 

• Troubleshoot, bug-fix, and validate application behavior across the development lifecycle. 

Cross-Functional & Agile Collaboration: 

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and fellow developers in Agile/Scrum teams to determine design specifications and technical details. 

• Work together with colleagues on internal infrastructure and process improvements. 

Application Maintenance & Optimization: 

• Modify existing applications to correct errors, adapt to new software upgrades, or improve performance. 

Production Support: 

• Assist in production problem resolution as needed, including occasional off-hour support. 

Key Competencies: 

Technical Expertise: 

• In-depth working knowledge of C#/VB.NET, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, Entity Framework Core, and NHibernate, with current experience on .NET 8/.NET 10 (LTS). 

• Modern front-end proficiency in React (with Next.js) and/or Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive/component-based UI design; legacy AngularJS and jQuery/JavaScript experience a plus. 

• AI-assisted development skills, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Gemini for day-to-day coding, and experience building or integrating AI features using Azure OpenAI Service and Microsoft Semantic Kernel. 

• Cloud development and deployment experience with Google Cloud Platform (primary) — including Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Functions — with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS as a plus. 

• Database experience across PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL Server, including schema design, query performance tuning, and data migration. 

• Experience developing and automating unit tests using xUnit and/or NUnit, with mocking/assertion libraries such as Moq and FluentAssertions. 

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) to support continuous testing and delivery. 

• Experience with code management tools (e.g., Git, SVN) and website performance testing. 

Domain and Support Experience: 

• Automobile domain experience. 

• Experience supporting global applications. 

Attention to Detail and Multitasking: 

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly. 

Additional Tools Knowledge (a plus): 

• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Dynatrace, Postman, SonarQube, and JMeter. 

Technology Application: 

• Apply strong web development experience in Microsoft .NET Technologies to build and support mid- to high-scale internet web sites. 

Quality Assurance: 

• Perform website performance testing and ensure solutions meet quality, performance, and reliability standards. 

Certifications and Continued Growth (Desired but not required): 

• Microsoft Certification. 

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer certification. 

• Knowledge of other programming languages. 

• Knowledge of Content Management Systems.
