This position would focus on enabling Machine Learning through data as PART of the AI team. Understand  J5 data and advocate for use cases and requirements that would result in work for the AI team.  Would interface w/ J5 and AFNWC customers at the technical and action officer level, or with seniors on technical topics.  May fill in for AI product ownership (coordination of the team).  May need to be pro-active in finding valuable data tasks as our organization is new to ML and our customer has not shared all US Strategic Command data with us for EDA.

Qualifications

• Build and maintain complex applications and services. 
• Coduct code reviews and provide actionable feedback.
• Helps and guide development teams and provide technical direction
• Recommend and ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements
• Identify performance, scalability, and reliability improvements
• Work with product managers, designers.

Desired skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 
• 5–8 years of professional software development experience. 
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies. 
• Proficiency with version control, testing frameworks, and development tools.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
