About the role
Team Global Express is currently seeking an experienced Linehaul Driver to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity. This role involves completing scheduled linehaul movements across regional Queensland, ensuring freight is transported safely, efficiently and in line with service commitments.
The position is primarily overnight work, with typical start times in the afternoon or late evening. Drivers are paid a competitive combination of kilometre and hourly rates.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing scheduled linehaul runs across regional Queensland
- Safely operating MC combination vehicles across metropolitan, regional and highway networks
- Ensuring freight is delivered in accordance with service schedules and operational requirements
- Conducting comprehensive pre-start, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Performing trailer changeovers, coupling and uncoupling activities where required
- Ensuring freight is correctly loaded, restrained and transported in accordance with load restraint requirements
- Maintaining compliance with BFM accreditation, fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility obligations
- Monitoring vehicle performance and reporting defects or maintenance concerns promptly
- Accurately completing manifests, trip paperwork and compliance documentation
- Communicating effectively with Fleet Controllers and Operations teams throughout each journey
- Reporting hazards, incidents and near misses in a timely manner
- Following all company policies, procedures and safe work practices
What you'll bring
- Current and valid MC Licence
- BFM accreditation preferred
- Previous linehaul or long-distance driving experience
- Sound knowledge of fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Ability to work overnight and manage extended regional runs
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance and professional driving standards
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on the road
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Full working rights in Australia
What we offer
- Permanent full-time employment
- $0.65 per kilometre rate
- $37.58 per hour rate
