Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated junior programmer eager to learn and grow.  You will join a supportive programming team that builds reliable study data outputs. You will write, test and document code from clear specifications, while working closely with statisticians, data managers and cross-functional colleagues. Through mentoring, hands-on experience and clear goals, you will strengthen technical skills, contribute meaningfully to projects, and support GSK’s mission to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.

Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Develop, test and document code to create analysis datasets, tables, listings and figures under supervision.
- Translate specifications and statistical analysis plans into reproducible programming solutions.
- Perform quality checks, log issues and apply fixes to meet timelines and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with study teams, statisticians and data managers to clarify requirements and resolve queries.
- Follow data standards, internal procedures and regulatory guidance to ensure compliant deliverables.
- Share progress with your manager, accept feedback and learn from experienced colleagues.
 

Required Qualification & Skills:
- M Sc in Programming Or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Statistics, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience or coursework in programming languages such as SAS, R or Python.
- Basic understanding of data structures and SQL or relational databases.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to follow technical documentation and implement specifications accurately.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback and work effectively within a team.

Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus
- Experience working with clinical data or in a regulated industry.
- Familiarity with clinical data standards such as SDTM or ADaM.
- Knowledge of SAS macro programming or advanced R/Python libraries (pandas, numpy).
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of quality control practices and reproducible programming.
- Comfortable working in a matrix team and coordinating with external partners.
