Environmental & Sustainability Intern – (Part Time)
Job Description
This internship provides the opportunity to experience hands-on work and meaningful projects in the environmental and sustainability realm, work one-on-one with mentors, and collaborate with other employees cross-departmentally.
Responsibilities
*Subject to change, but the following are good indications of possible work topics and projects.*
- Performing chemical inventory and safety data sheet updates.
- Improve air emission inventory.
- Product review for PFAS reporting applicability.
- Regulated waste determination and profiling.
- Complete training, as necessary.
Schedule
- 12‑week paid internship (maximum of 90 consecutive calendar days).
- Approximately 20 hours/week and should not be scheduled for overtime.
- Hours may fluctuate but generally will be scheduled on select weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in-person at the SLC Corporate office in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Can work around class schedule, if necessary.
- Start date is flexible, but ideally September 14, 2026.
- Time off does not extend the internship end date.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Pursuing college degree at any level (preferably in a major or area related to environment, sustainability, or similar science/engineering).
- Microsoft Office experience is highly recommended.
- Comfortable regularly conversing with all levels of internal employees.
