Description
The Electrical Engineer shall provide complete services including power load determination, exterior electrical, interior electrical, and site lighting working drawings as needed. This position will be in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and it is located at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Doha, Qatar.
Essential Responsibilities:
Must be familiar with local/applicable codes and shall comply with communications requirements and account for them in project documents.
This discipline attends meetings as required for projects or investigative/project development taskings.
Must have experience in reviewing and analyzing electrical power distribution systems, reviewing electrical drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Must be proficient in reviewing and analyzing electrical power distribution systems, reviewing electrical drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Experience with airfield lighting systems and power generation equipment is highly desirable.
Must have knowledge of principles of engineering, planning, project programming, design, project management, construction management and ability to interpret plans and drawings.
Excellent communications, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Capable of complete design services including electric power distribution networks, power load determination, exterior electric, interior electric, and site lighting.
Working knowledge of Design Review, Project Mobilization, Quality Compliance, QA, Safety, Project Controls, and Capture Management.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2025 or later and use AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution.
Computer literate; can use Microsoft Office and Project, etc.
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Experience & Education:
Electrical Engineer Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET Accredited University with at least ten (10) years’ experience in construction or facility maintenance.
Electrical Engineering experience required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
