LC/MSMS Applications Specialist
Location: Demonstration Laboratory in Barcelona
Starting date: 2nd quarter 2026
Reporting to: South Application support Manager
Based in: Barcelona
Territory: Spain
Contract: Permanent, Full time

Responsibilities
As part of the applications laboratory and reporting to the team manager, you will play a key role in showcasing the value of our analytical solutions to customers.Your mission will be to support users in discovering and making the most of our cutting-edge liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) technologies, particularly UPLC systems coupled with triple quadrupole and time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometers.In this role, you will:- Conduct scientific and technical demonstrations of our systems for customers and prospects- Design and implement application studies, including analysis and development of LC-MS methods tailored to customer challenges- Optimize and transfer analytical methods on triple quadrupole and TOF platforms for a variety of analytical applications- Take part in scientific and technical presentations during instrument evaluations and support customers throughout their purchasing process- Deliver user training on instrument operation and associated software solutionsThe role is split between the applications laboratory located at headquarters and on-site interventions at customer premises to prepare trials, deploy analytical applications, or train teams on our solutions.This position, part of the instrument commercial team for Southern Europe, requires strong interaction with the sales teams and a good understanding of scientific and application-related challenges in order to actively contribute to the success of customer projects.Regular travel within Spain is expected.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should ideally have the following qualifications:
- Education: Engineering degree/PhD in analytical chemistry or biochemistry
- Experience :
- At least 3 years of laboratory experience, with hands-on expertise in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
- Excellent command of separation technologies (liquid chromatography), tandem mass spectrometry and TOF, and their coupling.
- Experience in method development.
- Experience in project management and customer relations.
- Experience in the relevant industry sector (food and environmental, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical, chemical materials, etc.).
Knowledge:
- Softwares: Empower, Masslynx ou Waters_connect.
- Fluent Spanish and English required - another European language is a plus (preference for French or Italian).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of CRM tools (ideally Salesforce).
- Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory best practices.
