Trinity University is seeking a Part-Time Faculty for the Fall 2026 semester to teach the following course(s):BAT-2403-03: Fundamentals of Information Systems
BAT-2403-04: Fundamentals of Information Systems
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities of part-time faculty members include but are not limited to:
Developing the course syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets departmental and University standards
Designing and delivering lectures, discussions, in-class activities, and assignments focused on systems theory, information quality, decision-making frameworks, and IT infrastructure (computing and telecommunications). Additionally, students will be introduced to organizational concepts and process improvement principles as they relate to information systems. Lastly, the use of Structured Query Language and Tableau for data visualization tasks will be introduced
Grading assigned papers, quizzes, and exams
Assigning early, midterm, and final grades in compliance with University deadlines
Maintaining office hours as directed by the department chair or program director
Making student accommodations as determined by the Office of Student Accessibility Services
Adhering to all instructional policies as published in the Faculty Handbook and the Courses of Study Bulletin
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Required:
Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a closely related field
Preferred:
PhD degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a closely related field
EXPERIENCE
Required:
Familiarity with core IS concepts: systems theory, database/telecommunications fundamentals, and organizational decision-making models
Preferred:
Prior teaching experience at the college/university level
Professional or teaching experience related to information systems, IT infrastructure, or organizational technology management
Evidence of impactful teaching practice demonstrated through submission of sample teaching materials and student evaluations
Experience with Canvas course delivery platforms
Industry experience in IT management, business analysis, or systems administration
Experience using Structured Query Language and Tableau
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Mastery of the relevant subject matter
Ability to deliver engaging lectures, discussions, or in-class activities
Ability to design rigorous and meaningful assignments
