Overview
Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP is seeking a Corporate Associate to join its International and Immigration team for its Washington, DC location to assist the firm’s partner attorneys and senior associate attorneys with legal research and provide drafts of contracts and other legal documents. A Day in the Life
Assist the Firm’s partner attorneys and senior associate attorneys with legal research and provide drafts of contracts and other legal documents. Prepare reports for client company executives on the potential legal ramifications of proposed organizational policies and procedures and research legal solutions for various issues presented by our clients. Perform legal research to assist corporate clients on various legal issues. Apply depth and/or breadth of expertise in various areas of law to prepare memos, contracts, applications, petitions, and other legal documents. Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve processes or services. Use sophisticated critical thinking skills, leading others to solve complex problems and take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Use knowledge of best practices to identify ways to refine the policies, procedures, and practices relevant to own discipline at Nelson Mullins. Assist partners with the management of client relationships and advise clients on a variety of legal matters. Actively participate in business development activities alongside partner attorneys. Operate with substantial latitude, review project progress and results with Team Leader. Lead projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity. Work closely with support staff to meet deadlines. Draft legal documents, letters, supporting evidence, and forms to file briefs and petitions. Coordinate, collaborate, and support other attorneys by managing client databases and updates. Ensure compliance of all local, state, and federal laws relating to corporate matters. Communicate difficult concepts and practices to clients.
We Know You
Must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school and must have completed graduate coursework in international subjects such as law, trade law, arbitration, and public rights as well as coursework in business-government relations and global corporate responsibility. Must be licensed with a State Bar Association.

- The salary/wage range for this position is $129,605 - $185,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
