JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking applicants for part-time job of research assistant.
Job duties to include:
- focusing on the synthesis and fabrication of high-entropy transition-metal ceramics
- creating ultra-hard materials through coherent spinodal decomposition
- synthesis and favbrication of experimental samples which may include powder-processed and Field-Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) to consolidate and tailor unique formulations
Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:
- experience with various analytical characterization tools including scanning electron microscopy, TEM, EDS and hardness testing
- experience with designing experiments
- experience with report preparation
- oral and written communication skills
Compensation:
The starting rate for this job is $33.64/hr.
