Shift Technician/Mechanic

·           Based at our Oldham Depot, located at Oldham, Greater Manchester

·           Pay rate of £22.03 per hour/annual earnings of £45,822 p.a.

·           Shift pattern of 4 days on and 3 off – working one weekend in 3,

40 hours per week, typical shifts 5am – 3pm & 3pm – 1am (includes

weekends)

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Shift Technician/Mechanic to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Oldham. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including hybrid and electric vehicles, supported by ongoing training as technology and vehicle systems continue to evolve.

What you’ll be doing:

·           Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach

safety standards

·           Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using

diagnostic equipment including laptop

·           Completing the full range of mechanical repairs including major unit

changes and engine repairs and overhauls,

·           Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and roadside repairs

·           Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience

·           Working safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team

What we’re looking for:

·           NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance (or equivalent)

·           Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles

·           Experience and competence in using modern diagnostic equipment

·           Electrical/electronic competence at a basic level

·           A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail

·           A team player with good communication skills

·           Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles
