Description
The City of Liberty is looking for a GIS Specialist to join our team and help support the technology, data, and mapping systems that keep a growing community moving forward.
As a GIS Specialist, you'll help city departments and the public better understand where things are, how they connect, and how data can be used to make smarter decisions. Your work will support everything from city operations and infrastructure to planning, development, and day-to-day services for our community.

- Create maps, graphics, and other visual products using the ESRI ArcGIS software suite.
- Collect spatial and attribute data using Trimble GPS equipment.
- Read and interpret civil engineering plans, plot maps, legal descriptions, and other source documents.
- Enter, maintain, and update information within GIS databases and systems.
- Perform routine GIS development and maintenance.
- Verify data accuracy and maintain quality-control standards across datasets.
- Support the integration of GIS with other City systems.
- Work with City departments and members of the public to understand their needs and develop GIS solutions.
- Help identify ways to improve processes, increase efficiency, and provide better service.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to support the City's goals and the community we serve.
- At least one year of experience using ArcGIS software.
- At least one year of experience supporting GIS system integration.
- Knowledge of GIS software, geodatabase systems, and geographic information.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- An Associate's Degree in Geography, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
