About Maddox + You:
Maddox PRO (PRO) provides shared services (including construction, facility maintenance, and accounting) to Maddox Industrial Transformer (MIT) and an expanding portfolio of other businesses/projects under common ownership. PRO is seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our collaborative accounting team. In this role, you will take ownership of multi-entity financial reviews under GAAP, serve as a trusted subject-matter expert, and play a key role in supporting and elevating team members as our organization expands.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead all phases of monthly close and financial reporting for multiple entities, including reviewing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
- Serve as a mentor to team members, fostering best practices, accurate reporting, and ongoing professional growth
- Oversee GAAP compliance, corporate accounting policies, and internal control documentation and implementation
- Ensure timely filing of state and federal licensing and reporting requirements
- Lead the delivery of necessary documentation and analysis to fulfill PBC requests from auditors and tax advisors
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to standard operating procedures and accounting workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to review monthly GL activity and streamline reporting processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA strongly preferred
- 6-8+ years of total accounting experience, with at least 2+ years at the Senior level
- Strong collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a desire to support team members
- Proven track record of taking end-to-end ownership of financial processes and driving workflow improvements
- High attention to detail, proactive time management, and sharp analytical problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Google or Microsoft Office suites (e.g. Sheets/Excel), and cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero); experience with BI reporting (e.g. Metabase, BigQuery) a plus
