Job Summary
The Software Engineer (Tier-2) Team is responsible for the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning for the FreeWheel platforms. The Software Engineer will engage in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems and be able to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks. The Software Engineer will be part of a team consisting of a healthy mix between software and technology infrastructure backgrounds. The Software Engineer will provide subject matter expertise, resolve complex break/fix scenarios and engage broader teams as necessary; partner with engineering, vendors and client services to deliver successful technical solutions. Works with limited supervision and direction while executing associated functions and responsibilities. ·Execution and Implementation: a) Oversee and manage the execution of project plans and initiatives. b) Ensure timely and successful implementation of tasks and deliverables.
·Customer Engagement and Support: a) Engage with internal and external customers to understand their needs and provide support. b) Resolve customer issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
·Quality Assurance and Testing: a) Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes and testing procedures. b) Identify and report any quality or testing issues for resolution.
·Team Coordination and Development: a) Coordinate and manage team activities and assignments. b) Provide coaching and guidance to team members for skill development. c) Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
·Technical Troubleshooting and Support: a) Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the team's area of responsibility. b) Leverage technical knowledge to provide effective solutions. c) Escalate complex issues to senior team members when necessary.
·Cybersecurity Compliance and Awareness: a) Ensure team adherence to cybersecurity policies and procedures. b) Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices within the team. c) Assist in implementing cybersecurity measures as directed.
•Be able to work on weekend during on call schedule.
Must Have Technical Skills
•Data analytics skills & be able to apply them with tools like pivot tables
•Experience on coding, providing technical solutions
•Developing and debugging server-side application or web service in either one of the languages such as Python, Go, ROR, C/C++, Java, HTML, JavaScript & RESTFul web service
•Knowledge of database structure and SQL
•Cloud (AWS specific is a big plus): VPC, subnets, network access control lists, security groups, EC2 instances, S3 buckets, IAM, Route 53, Lambda
•SDLC tools: Containers, Kubernetes, Docker, Salt, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Git
•Operations: Linux administration, network security, system infrastructure
Good To Have Technical Skills :
•Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
