Planner
Department: Supply Chain
Position Summary
The Planner plays a role in coordinating product build schedules for Manufacturing Operations and maintaining the ERP system to ensure demand signals are driving continuity of material supply so Plug Power can meet established production and customer delivery schedules. The Planner must be skilled at working with cross-functional departments to coordinate efforts and communicate requirements to meet the production schedule. The ideal candidate for this position should be experienced in data entry, have a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate maintenance of planning parameters in ERP database.
- Timely and accurate processing of sales orders, transfer orders, and unplanned parts requests.
- Maintain planning procedures.
- Support/communicate material shortages with Production and Supply Chain.
- Occasional administrative support for Lead Planners.
- Coordinate product line logistics and warehouse activities where needed.
- Coordinate and execute transactions to support unplanned requests.
- Work closely with supply chain to ensure materials needed to meet production schedules are on-hand and consistent with quality specifications.
- Partner with engineering to manage deviations to the standard material requirements for a given build.
- Identify ERP system change requests and process improvement
Introduce process improvement initiatives to Operations and other related business processes which help to drive efficiencies, reduce operating costs, and increase inventory and documentation accuracy. < >Assist the production and warehouse team members in non-routine investigations of inventory issues in order to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions. Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
< >Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience in engineering, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, etc preferred. Experience and proficiency with ERP systems Microsoft Office product experience and proficiency – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access. Data entry skills with the ability to understand and maintain database parameters. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere. Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Role model for high standards of professionalism. Results-oriented and driven work style. Excellent task-oriented follow-through.
