Meet the Team
Join Cisco’s Global Accounting & Reporting (GAR) organization, a Finance team focused on controllership oversight, accounting delivery, and compliance assurance. The team partners with internal Centers of Excellence and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and effective compliance across Cisco’s legal entities.
As part of the team, you will support Intercompany Accounting and Controllership activities for Cisco’s India legal entities, working across Finance, Tax, Legal, Compliance, IT, and other business functions in a global, matrixed environment.
Your Impact
As an Intercompany Accounting & Controllership Analyst, you will have dual responsibilities across Accounting and Intercompany (IC) activities, supporting accurate and timely financial close for India legal entities.
You will play a key role in managing Intercompany accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, statutory and tax audits, compliance activities, and balance sheet governance. You will also partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting and process issues and support system and process changes aligned with US GAAP and IGAAP requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and review Intercompany balances and transactions to support accurate and timely book closure.
- Perform month-end financial close activities for Intercompany in compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage Intercompany accounting activities, including transaction accounting and settlements.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, identify open items, and drive timely closure.
- Reconcile and review books of accounts under US GAAP and IGAAP with statutory records.
- Support and drive statutory audits, tax audits, and other compliance activities related to Intercompany.
- Review accounting processes and system changes or requirements to ensure compliance with US GAAP and IGAAP.
- Partner with IT, Tax, Legal, Compliance, and other cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve accounting, process, and system issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Provide accurate financial information and analysis to support leadership and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to projects and process improvements within the broader GAR organization.
Who You’ll Work With
You will be part of the Cisco Global Accounting & Reporting (GAR) team and will collaborate closely with Tax, Legal, Compliance, internal Centers of Excellence, IT, external auditors, and other Finance stakeholders.
You will work across a global, matrixed environment to support controllership, compliance, and accounting objectives.
Who You Are
You are a detail-oriented and proactive Finance professional with strong experience in Intercompany Accounting and Controllership. You are comfortable managing financial close activities, reconciliations, audits, and compliance requirements while working with multiple stakeholders.
You bring strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative mindset. You are adaptable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a global and matrixed organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- CA, CS, or CWA qualification.
- 5–6 years of experience in Intercompany Accounting and Controllership.
- Strong experience handling Intercompany transactions, accounting, and settlements.
- Experience with GL accounting and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with US GAAP and IGAAP accounting.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience supporting or managing statutory audits and tax audits, preferably within large multinational organizations.
- Strong understanding of controllership and compliance requirements.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to leadership.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Financials ERP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting accounting and audit activities within a large US multinational organization, particularly in the IT, Technology, or Telecom sector.
- Strong experience in Intercompany controllership and financial close across multiple legal entities.
- Experience identifying and resolving complex reconciliation and accounting issues.
- Experience supporting process, policy, and system changes related to accounting and compliance.
- Strong ability to operate effectively within a global matrix organization.
- Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in process optimization and operational excellence.
