Sr Accountant

Rite-Hite is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team and play an important role in maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting. In this position, you’ll be hands-on with core accounting activities, support the month-end close process, review work completed by our Shared Services Center (SSC), and help identify and resolve accounting issues.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week out of our Milwaukee, WI corporate office.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and review journal entries and accruals across assigned accounting areas.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Support month-end close activities and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by our Shared Services Center for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with accounting estimates and reserves under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.
• Investigate accounting questions and partner with teams including Shared Services, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and FP&A to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate accounting documentation and provide support for internal and external audit requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.
• Apply sound accounting judgment while following established policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience working with or alongside a Shared Services organization.
• Experience with an ERP system; JD Edwards experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and processes.
• Ability to apply accounting judgment and effectively research and resolve issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines, particularly during month-end close.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
