Our Procurement team is currently looking for a Procurement Buyer.
Reports To: Director of Supply Chain, Procurement, & Commercialization
Summary:
The Procurement Buyer will utilize a team-based approach to identify and procure materials for use at Berner Food and Beverage. Throughout all activities, the Procurement Buyer will consistently demonstrate fiscal responsibility by negotiating pricing, delivery, and terms to Berner Food and Beverage’s advantage. The Procurement Buyer will also demonstrate a high level of understanding of cashflow impact by reducing exposure to customer-specific components, keeping inventories low, and ensuring all production needs are met. This position will ensure that all programs, procedures, requirements, practices, and safety will be followed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
· Issue blanket purchase orders for corrugate, labels, glues, films, and others directed for manufacturing purposes
· Manage vendor releases to ensure manufacturing needs are met
· Administer label inventory to ensure reduced exposure of customer-specific components
· Order and stock all necessary non-stock materials, including but not limited to, office supplies, paper, glues, and other manufacturing supplies as requested by Operations
· Issue purchase orders for capital projects
· Monitor production schedule to ensure all materials are available as needed; communicate plans for any shortages to the procurement and operations team
· Utilize production forecast to determine raw materials needs; order as necessary to meet needs and keep inventory values low
· Manage “about to expire inventory” & “expired inventory” levels to minimize exposure to Berner
· Attend all meetings that are necessary.
Education Training, & Experience:
Degree preferred, but not required. Minimum three years experience in a purchasing environment.
Pay Range: 60,000.00 to 75, 000.00 salary (based on experience). Full medical, dental, vision, and 401k benefits offered.
