Description

Company Overview:

SteriCUBE® is a medical device company that has reengineered how surgical instruments reach the operating room. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Grapevine, TX with an additional office in Gulfport, FL, the company manufactures multiple tray sterilization systems that allow every instrument tray for a surgery to be sterilized and delivered to the OR as a single unit — eliminating blue wrap and the wet loads, torn wrap, rejected trays, and delayed case starts that come with it.

The category has not meaningfully changed in decades, and the results are measurable: roughly 27 minutes saved per surgery in tray prep, a validated 5-minute dry time instead of the standard 30, and sterility maintained for up to 30 days. The company is growing quickly — headcount has nearly doubled year over year — and is scaling its manufacturing and supply base to match.

Job Overview:

The Senior Supply Chain Project Manager/Director leads supplier selection, qualification, and manufacturing transfer projects for SteriCUBE — identifying and developing strategic manufacturing partners, transferring products and processes to external suppliers, and ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with medical device quality and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on role for a supply chain professional with strong experience in medical device manufacturing, supplier management, contract manufacturing, new product introduction, and manufacturing transfers. The role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and senior leadership while serving as the primary project leader for supplier and transfer initiatives.

Products:

  • The SteriCUBE® Multiple Tray Sterilization System is an FDA-cleared Class II device — a 16-gauge stainless steel sterilization cabinet with an adjustable transfer cart, filters, and integrity locks, deployed directly into a pre-vacuum steam sterilizer.

  • Two models: the MTS225 (three shelves, up to 225 lbs) and the MTS300 (four shelves, up to 300 lbs). Adjustable shelving accommodates trays, batteries, positioners, and robotic arms.

  • Four cross-ventilation filters disperse dense saturated steam evenly throughout the cabinet, and a funnel floor rapidly evacuates condensate during the dry cycle — addressing the wet-load problem common to flat-bottom rigid containers.

  • Validated for a 4-minute exposure and 5-minute dry time, a 10⁻⁶ sterility assurance level, 30-day sterility, and smaller lumens than any other technology on the market (0.7mm ID at 500mm). Approved for offsite sterilization and compatible with most large sterilizers.

  • Most commonly used for joint replacement and spine procedures, and particularly valuable for loaner trays. Protected by an extensive U.S. and international patent portfolio.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing operations, or supplier management

  • Demonstrated experience leading supplier selection and manufacturing-transfer projects within medical device or another highly regulated manufacturing industry

  • Strong background in contract manufacturing and external supplier management, including supplier qualification, RFQs, negotiations, cost analysis, and performance management

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, engineering documentation, and production controls

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences

  • Comfort working in gray areas and determining next steps to create clarity

  • Willingness to travel periodically to supplier and manufacturing sites

Preferred

  • ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing experience

  • Design transfer, process validation, PPAP/FAI, or similar manufacturing qualification experience

  • Experience managing contract manufacturers and critical component suppliers

  • PMP certification; lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement background

  • Experience developing dual-source strategies and supporting new product introduction (NPI)

Key Competencies

  • Strategic Sourcing — Identifying and developing suppliers with the right combination of quality, capability, cost, capacity, and scalability.

  • Project Leadership — Independently driving complex, cross-functional projects from concept through implementation.

  • Technical Understanding — Understanding manufacturing processes, engineering requirements, drawings, specifications, validation requirements, and quality controls.

  • Supplier Management — Building strong supplier relationships while holding suppliers accountable for quality, cost, delivery, and performance.

  • Communication & Influence — Building consensus and influencing internal teams and external suppliers without relying solely on organizational authority.

  • Execution — Strong sense of urgency and accountability, with a demonstrated ability to turn plans into measurable results.

Job Responsibilities:

Supplier Selection & Development

  • Lead identification, evaluation, selection, and onboarding of new suppliers and contract manufacturers for scoped projects

  • Conduct supplier assessments, capability reviews, and due diligence; lead RFQs, negotiations, commercial evaluations, and supplier recommendations

  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with contract manufacturing partners

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single-source dependencies and capacity constraints

Manufacturing Transfer

  • Lead manufacturing transfer projects from design or existing suppliers to new or alternate partners, developing detailed plans, schedules, milestones, and resource requirements

  • Coordinate transfer of drawings, specifications, BOMs, work instructions, inspection methods, tooling, fixtures, and test methods

  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to ensure processes are adequately defined, validated, and controlled before production release

  • Manage deliverables supporting pilot builds, first articles, process development, process validation, and production ramp-up

  • Ensure transfers are executed in accordance with company change-control and quality-system requirements; identify risks and develop mitigation plans

Cross-Functional Project Leadership

  • Serve as primary project manager for supplier selection and manufacturing-transfer initiatives, coordinating across Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and external suppliers

  • Establish clear project ownership, timelines, and accountability alongside supplier counterparts

  • Lead project meetings and communicate status, risks, decisions, and action items to stakeholders and leadership; escalate issues and drive timely resolution

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure commitments are tracked through completion

Quality & Regulatory

  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory to ensure suppliers meet applicable medical device requirements

  • Lead supplier qualification, quality agreements, supplier audits, and supplier corrective actions

  • Ensure supplier and transfer activities comply with FDA, ISO 13485, and company quality-system requirements, with documentation completed before production release

  • Oversee investigations and root-cause analysis for supplier or manufacturing issues arising from NPD pilot or transfer projects

Success Measures

Success will be measured by the ability to qualify capable manufacturing partners; complete transfers on schedule and on budget; achieve successful pilot builds and production ramp-up with minimal disruption; maintain or improve product quality through transfer; reduce supply-chain risk; and meet targeted cost, capacity, and lead-time objectives.
