Leidos is seeking a talented Software Test Engineer to work in our Huntsville office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to help test software for Tactical strike guided munition programs.

This position focuses on automated testing, development of robust, innovative software test infrastructures and frameworks, integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, fielding and support, and maintenance of software products. Software products range from analysis tools/simulations, mission planning software, and components of mission-critical systems.  

Primary Responsibilities

• Involves direct participation as an integral team member who performs key roles with respect to test planning, test strategy and design, test execution, software engineering processes, and recommendations on product quality.

• Involves reviewing, editing, and generating various documents used for engineering and testing purposes per industry standards. 

• Provides overall software test leadership to the program; this includes, but isn’t limited to, mentoring and developing junior software engineers, working with software IPT lead, and representing software test during IPT meetings.

• Involves communication with customers, end users, and team members on a frequent basis.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Candidate should have 12+ years of relevant technical experience with BS degree or 10+ with MS degree.

• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Proven experience leading software test teams on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

• Have a proven track record of implementing automated software testing principles on embedded systems. 

• Candidate must demonstrate advanced competency in software development in either C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages. 

• Excellent communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership and government customers.

• The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies.

• Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, MIL-STD-882e, DO-178C and/or DO-278, RMF).  

• Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles and application

• Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices technology.

• Knowledge of guidance & control algorithms, navigation systems, mission planning systems (NOMS, JMPS), and sensors a huge plus.

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.

• Understanding of hardware-software integration and software systems engineering principles

• Agile Scrum Master experience a plus.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
