Systems Administrator I (Full Time/Mon-Fri Days)

Description

The Systems Administrator I serves as the primary operational administrator for assigned technology platforms and infrastructure services at Caz Recovery. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, stable, and reliable technology systems that directly support the agency’s clinical mission and business operations.

This is a growth-oriented position. The Systems Administrator I works under the direction of IT Management and is expected to develop increasing technical proficiency, operational ownership, and professional maturity over time — progressively assuming greater responsibility for infrastructure administration, security, documentation, and service delivery as competency is demonstrated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•  Microsoft 365 & Identity Administration to include Administering Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and related Microsoft 365 security configurations.
•  Manages Active Directory and Entra ID accounts, groups, permissions, and Group Policy Objects.
•  Supports MFA enrollment, Conditional Access policies, and identity lifecycle management.
•  Administers endpoint management platforms including Intune and Endpoint Central for Windows 10/11 device management, patching, and policy deployment.
•  Performs monitoring, patching, backup verification, and maintenance of Windows Server infrastructure.
•  Supports virtualization, storage, and disaster recovery operations as directed by IT Management.
•  Administers network infrastructure including switches, VLANs, routing, firewalls, and wireless — under direction and within established change procedures.
•  Manages enterprise print infrastructure including Konica Minolta MFPs, print queues, and drivers.
•  Participates in infrastructure modernization initiatives while maintaining service availability and operational stability.
•  Security & Compliance: Implements and enforces IT security policies in alignment with HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational requirements.
•  Supports endpoint security controls, security monitoring platforms, and vulnerability remediation activities.
•  Conducts IT security awareness training during onboarding and on an annual basis.
•  Participates in audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning as directed.
•  Adheres to established Change Management protocols for all production environment modifications — including documentation, risk assessment, communication, testing, and IT Management approval prior to implementation.
•  Maintains version-controlled records of server and network configuration changes to ensure audit readiness and support rapid disaster recovery.
•  Ensures appropriate authorization and procedural adherence prior to implementing production-impacting changes, service modifications, security changes, or infrastructure reconfigurations.
•  Provides Tier 2 support for escalated service desk issues; diagnoses and resolves hardware and software problems efficiently.
•  Maintains accurate, current documentation of systems, configurations, licenses, procedures, and IT asset inventory.
•  Coordinates with vendors for procurement, licensing, and support of IT services and infrastructure.
•  Demonstrates sound operational judgment — including the discipline to recognize when an issue exceeds current authorization or competency and to escalate appropriately before acting.
•  Communicates technical issues, risks, and recommendations clearly and professionally to IT Management, end users, and vendors.
•  Accepts coaching, applies feedback, and continuously develops technical and professional competencies in alignment with organizational needs.
•  Identifies opportunities for operational, security, and infrastructure improvements and presents recommendations to IT Management for review — not unilateral implementation.
•  Maintains confidence by keeping information (particularly resident files) confidential.
•  Is mindful of and integrates Trauma-Informed Care and its five principles in all duties and interactions with fellow staff, residents, and external partners.
•  Maintains compliance with all required rules and regulations including Federal Confidentiality (42 CFR, Part 2), HIPAA, Medicaid and/or HUD, and any others.

Requirements

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and demonstrated experience will be considered.
•  Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or enterprise IT operations, with exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, Windows Server, endpoint management, and networking environments. Equivalent combinations of training, certification, and hands-on experience will be considered.
•  CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+; Microsoft 365 Certified; Fortinet NSE; Cisco CCNA; or equivalent industry-recognized certifications preferred.
•  Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
