About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, within the Housekeeping Department, the Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall management, leadership and performance of the Housekeeping and Laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, service excellence and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. The Executive Housekeeper reports directly to the Director of Rooms.

As Executive Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Lead and manage all housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest luxury hospitality standards are consistently achieved.
• Develop, implement and monitor departmental procedures, service standards and quality assurance programmes.
• Manage, motivate, coach and develop the Housekeeping and Laundry teams, fostering a culture of excellence, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, heart-of-house areas and laundry facilities are maintained in immaculate condition.
• Monitor productivity, labour costs, departmental budgets and operating expenses while maintaining exceptional service quality.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with brand standards, health and safety regulations and cleanliness requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Oversee inventory management, procurement and control of housekeeping supplies, linen, uniforms and equipment.
• Handle guest feedback and service recovery situations promptly and professionally.
• Support sustainability initiatives and implement environmentally responsible housekeeping practices.

As Executive Housekeeper, we expect from you:

• Proven leadership experience as Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and people management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning methodologies, laundry management and luxury service standards.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting and cost controls.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Highly responsible, reliable and results-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to lead multicultural teams and inspire a culture of excellence.
• Passion for guest satisfaction and continuous improvement.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in luxury hospitality housekeeping operations.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is highly preferred. Additional languages will be considered an asset.
