Role Description

We are looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our growing Rail Design team in York, supporting the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with bridge and structural design experience to develop their career in a collaborative environment, working on challenging projects while progressing towards Chartered Engineer status. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions and contribute to the future of the UK's rail network.

Role Accountabilities

• Deliver civil and structural design activities across rail and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
• Work within BIM and 3D design environments, including Revit, Civil 3D and AECOSim.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop coordinated engineering solutions.
• Support delivery against programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Undertake site visits and surveys as required.
• Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture.
• Continue developing technical and professional skills through mentoring and project experience.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Membership of ICE or IStructE (Graduate, Associate or equivalent) and actively working towards Chartered Engineer status.

• Experience in bridge and/or structural design, ideally within a consultancy environment.
• Exposure to the rail sector would be advantageous.
• Experience using civil engineering design software to produce technical deliverables.
• Understanding of BIM principles and working within a Common Data Environment.
• Eligibility to work in the UK on a long-term basis, with the flexibility to travel occasionally within the UK.
