Position Summary
Qnity is seeking an R&D Scientist to join our Advanced Circuits & Packaging (ACP) team in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The ACP organization develops innovative materials and technologies that address critical challenges in the global semiconductor packaging and circuit manufacturing industries.
This role is ideal for a scientist with expertise in polymer and organic chemistry, materials science, and formulation development who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and collaborating with global technical teams.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of next-generation electroplating products through polymer synthesis, formulation design, materials characterization, process scale-up, and electrochemical testing. In addition to working within cross-functional teams, this individual will lead focused technical projects and serve as a resource for less experienced team members.
This is a 100% onsite position based in our Marlborough, MA facility.

What You'll Do
Support research and development of new additives and formulations used in electroplating products for the electronics industry
Collaborate with global technical and commercial teams on product development projects
Perform polymer synthesis and characterization at laboratory and pilot scales
Design and execute experiments involving electroplating, electrochemistry, chromatography, microscopy, NMR, and materials testing
Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental results to internal and external stakeholders
Prepare samples, support scale-up activities, and contribute to process development efforts
Lead focused technical projects with minimal supervision
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and actively participate in laboratory safety initiatives
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry or research experience
Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques and laboratory experimentation
Demonstrated ability to develop and test technical hypotheses and operate standard chemical and analytical instrumentation
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Background in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, or materials chemistry
Experience with polymer synthesis and characterization
Knowledge of electroplating bath formulation, electrochemistry, or electrodeposition processes
Experience using analytical techniques such as NMR, chromatography, cyclic voltammetry, spectroscopy, and titration methods
Strong understanding of statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE)
Experience supporting semiconductor, electronics, or advanced materials applications
