Description
You’ll love it here! We are hiring immediately for a Maintenance Cleaner! As a Maintenance Cleaner, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized distribution center. You’ll support daily cleaning operations, waste and recycling management, building maintenance activities, and work with a variety of equipment to help ensure the facility operates efficiently and safely.
Availability Requirements
- Sunday to Thursday – 2:30pm to 11:00pm

What you’ll do as a Maintenance Cleaner
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the distribution center, including sweeping and general housekeeping duties.
- Collect, sort, and safely dispose of waste and recycling materials while ensuring proper source separation.
- Operate garbage compactors and recycling balers safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate waste and recycling pickups with external service providers.
- Conduct routine building inspections, both interior and exterior.
- Assist with racking inspections, landscaping, painting, and facility improvement projects.
- Operate maintenance-related equipment, including material handling equipment (MHE), power tools, scissor lifts, boom lifts, compactors, and balers.
- Perform battery maintenance, including battery watering, following all safety procedures.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve departmental efficiency and workplace safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
What we’re looking for
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
- Comfortable working at heights of up to 30 feet.
- Ability to work safely around power tools, maintenance equipment, and material handling equipment.
- Willingness to become certified and trained on MHE equipment.
- MHE certification and experience are considered assets.
- Painting experience is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and commitment to supporting a team-focused environment.
- Availability to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional assignments at other Best Buy warehouse locations as required.
Education & Experience
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
