Job Summary
The Director, Field Sales role will be a key individual contributor sales executive who generates new revenue for the Advent division of SS&C Technologies, Inc. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned sales executive with direct experience selling software & services to the Investment Management market, specifically Asset Managers and complex Private Wealth Advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business revenue growth by selling Advent's Genesis Platform, Eze products, and related software and services solutions to Investment Management firms across the assigned territory, primarily NOAM.
- Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans to identify, engage, and win new clients within the Investment Management vertical.
- Generate qualified sales opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and collaboration with Sales Analysts and Marketing.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through solution presentation, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive-level stakeholders and key decision-makers at investment management firms.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Solutions Managers to design and deliver solution presentations, demonstrations, proposals, and business cases aligned to customer needs.
- Position the value of the Genesis Platform across front-, middle-, and back-office workflows, including portfolio management, order management, pre- and post-trade compliance, post-trade operations, portfolio accounting, performance, reconciliation, risk, client reporting, billing, and client portal capabilities.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and sales forecast within Salesforce and provide regular business updates to senior leadership.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and client requirements to identify growth opportunities and provide market feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Represent Advent at industry conferences, trade shows, client events, and networking activities to enhance brand awareness and generate new business opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and ethical sales practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- 8-10+ years of direct experience selling software solutions to investment management firms.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving significant revenue growth.
- Experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles from prospecting through contract negotiation and close.
- Strong understanding of investment management workflows and financial software solutions, including trading, portfolio management, compliance, operations, accounting, performance measurement, and reporting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities through outbound prospecting and strategic account development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and key decision-makers.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with pre-sales, product, marketing, and customer-facing teams to drive successful sales outcomes.
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and sales analytics tools.
- Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, a consultative selling approach, and a results-oriented mindset.

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.New York: The expected base salary for the position is between $130,000 USD to $150,000 USD.
In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
