About the Role

  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline of institutional prospects and funding opportunities using grant research tools, databases, and professional resources, while maintaining a comprehensive calendar of proposal, renewal, and reporting deadlines.
  • Manage the full grant lifecycle, from prospect identification and qualification through proposal development, writing, submission, award administration, and required reporting.
  • Collaborate across Revenue and Advancement, Artistic, Education, and Finance teams, as well as with volunteers, the Development Committee, and Board of Trustees, to develop compelling proposals, sponsorship opportunities, budgets, financial reports, and other funder materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with program officers, corporate partners, current funders, and prospective funders to cultivate and maximize financial support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate acknowledgment, administration, tracking, and reporting of corporate sponsorships, institutional gifts, and government and foundation grants.
  • Develop and recommend corporate sponsorship opportunities and programs, manage sponsor benefit tracking and fulfillment, and identify opportunities for matching gifts, in-kind contributions, and other forms of corporate support.
  • Evaluate funding outcomes and identify opportunities to strengthen future proposals, cultivation strategies, and overall fundraising effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate institutional giving records, prospect activity, funding opportunities, and related documentation within Tessitura and other applicable systems.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Development regarding the institutional giving pipeline, applications, awards, upcoming deadlines, and fundraising performance.
  • Maintain high ethical and professional standards and ensure fundraising, grant administration, and reporting activities comply with organizational policies, funder requirements, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Arts Management, Communications, Writing, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of three years of nonprofit fundraising and grant writing experience, with demonstrated success developing and securing competitive grant proposals.
  • Demonstrated success securing significant corporate, foundation, and/or government funding, including grants or sponsorships of $50,000 or more.
  • Proven track record of developing donor and funder relationships and achieving established fundraising goals.
  • Experience cultivating and soliciting corporate, foundation, and government funders, including direct engagement with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated interest in or commitment to the performing arts and Confluence Theater’s mission preferred.
